Warning Signs

The brain controls much of the body's actions, a person loses control of specific body functions when brain cells are damaged. The functions effected depend on the area of the brain involved. Theses are some of the warning signs that may be experienced when someone has a stroke. They may experience only 1 or 2, or they may expereince several of them! They are:

-Sudden numbness of the face, arm, or leg or sudden weakness of the face, arm, or leg, especially on one side of the body.

-Sudden trouble seeing in one or both eyes, such as blurred or double vision or vision loss often where the person is not able to see anything on one side of their bobdy.

-Sudden with speaking or understanding what is said

-Sudden trouble walking, dizziness, or loss of balance or coordination

-Sudden severe headache with no known cause (more often seen with hemorrhagic stroke)

People need to be aware that if they or their loved one experiences any of these symptoms, they should call 911 immediately.
