Skull-base Tumors

Found near the brain stem and cerebellum, the skull-base is a small space in the skull. If a tumor grows in this area, it can partially or completely block the flow of spinal fluid and cause increased pressure on the brain and spinal cord. Because of their proximity to the cerebrum, which controls movement, skull-base tumors can be very serious. Other forms of skull-base tumors include, primary neuroectodermal, medulloblastoma, hemangioblastoma, metastatic tumors, schwannoma.

Depending on the patient‘s specific diagnosis, possible treatment options could include Gamma Knife® Radiosurgery, endoscopic brain surgery, endoscopic endonasal skull-base surgery, neuroendoport surgery, neuroendovascular surgery, or traditional brain surgery approaches.
